St. John Center knocked it out of the park with its fourth annual BaseBall held Saturday, Oct. 20 at Louisville Slugger Field. Preliminary figures for the event put net income at over $54,000, which represents a $12,000 increase over the budgeted amount of $42,500.
This happy group of guests at the Publishers Printing Company table helped St. John Center hit a home run at the fourth annual BaseBall held October 20 at Louisville Slugger Field.
Ann Hager, a St. John Center volunteer who suited up in a baseball cap, jersey and pants, shows the wares at her auction table to interested bidders. Many thanks to all those who attended the BaseBall and bid on auction items. A special thank you to hall-of-famer Fergie Jenkins and his right hand man Carl Kovacs who were on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos with fans. Fergie, who did not charge anything for the appearance, briefly addressed the crowd and spoke personally with many people. He also donated an autographed bat to the silent auction.
Emcee and SJC board member Kaye Thomas did a masterful job behind the microphone. The St. John Center staff was also on hand doing whatever was needed. The BaseBall is truly a team event. It is amazing what can be accomplished when a plan comes together for a great cause. |
