SJC big winner in poker faceoff with Denny Crum PDF Print E-mail
Marty Rosen is a guest writer for the Louisville Eccentric Observer (LEO). Recently his editor volunteered him to play in the media division of the World Series of Poker No-Limit Hold ’Em Tournament at Caesar’s Indiana.

As what started as three tables of local and national television, radio and print journalists dwindled to one, Rosen (a pretty fair poker player in his own right) found himself one of the last two card players remaining. Seated across the table was none other than hall-of-fame hoops coach and accomplished poker player Denny Crum.

To make a long story short, Rosen was able to defeat his heralded opponent, and he donated the top prize of $1,000 to St. John Center where his wife Mary Bryan is a member of the board. Thanks Marty. We appreciate it. And thanks to you coach Crum, for losing to a man who made St. John Center the winner.

If you’d like to know how you can help St. John Center in its mission of serving the homeless, just call 568-6758 and ask for Maria or Keith.
